This past weekend marked what was supposed to be the one year anniversary of Sean an Nicole Bell joining together in Holy Matrimony. Instead it was the anniversary of Sean Bell being killed in a hale of Bullets, 50 to be exact at the hands of the NYPD. Friends and family gathered at La Belle Vita where the reception for Bells wedding was supposed to take place, for a memorial service in honor of the fallen soldier.

Wearing buttons honoring Bell’s memory, they paused in the lobby, where a television played images of his bullet-ridden sedan and the newspaper headline “Cops Kill Groom.” The video also showed him posing with his daughters. “It hurts a lot” to return to the planned site of the wedding, said Nicole Paultre Bell, (Seans Widow) but she added, “I’m going to keep his memory alive as long as I live.”

Officers Michael Oliver and Gescard Isnora have pleaded not guilty to manslaughter; Officer Marc Cooper pleaded not guilty to reckless endangerment. A trial is scheduled to begin Feb. 4.

My personal Opinion on this matter is well documented here on HN. Now I hear the defense is trying to get a change of venue so they could have the trial in upstate NY by a jury of all whites you know “their peers”. The crazy part is that there have been at least another half dozen incidents in NYC involving NYPD gunning down young Black an Brown males. Something has to be done or its really going to be GAME BLOUSES!
