Congratulations to West Virginia University, Big East Champs
The Mountaineers Maul the Huskies to win Conference and earn realistic shot at National Championship
The alma mater of Dos Un, 4PL, Lexicon167, C-Hyphen, Myself and dozens of criminals like Chris Henry and Pacman Jones did its thing last night. The West Virginia Mountaineers (No. 3 BCS, No. 4 AP) are one game away from playing for a national championship after destroying No. 20 Connecticut 66-21 in Morgantown to clinch the Big East title and a guaranteed spot in the Bowl Championship Series (BSC.)
In any other year this would cap an enormous season however, with the parody in college football, the Mountaineers win will move them up at least one spot to second in the BCS standings and put them in the driver seat for a spot in the National Championship game on Jan. 7 in New Orleans. All that stands in their way is the Backyard Brawl rivalry game with Pittsburgh next week.
Honestly, I’m dumb hype. I know the Mountaineers have a tendency of choking in spots like this so I won’t go out an jinx it but this is a spot none-the-less that hasn’t presented itself EVER in school history. I can remember first learning about the school when Major Harris led the school to an undefeated regular season before getting beat up in the bowl game dashing their national championship hopes. Now, another black quarterback and Heisman hopeful, Pat White has lead the nation’s most prolific offense week after week defeating all but one opponent this year. I have to say I’m very proud of my school, now lets go make it happen next week against Pitt. Lets GO MOUNTAINEERS!
