I’ve been reading for about a month now that Akon and the cornball, will.i.am have been working on some new tracks with Michael Jackson for a top secret project. I disregarded it and didn’t bother to report it because it seemed “ho hum” at the time. However, yesterday when it was announced that Kanye West was also down with the project, information surfaced that they trio was actually remixing versions of tracks from the top selling album of all time….Thriller.

Aight, Aight yall might not feel the Mike right now but just remember back 25 years when Thriller dropped. (Some of you new jacks might not even be old enough.) But the single, the album, it was all anyone talked about. I can remember sitting at my neighbors house with what seemed like the whole hood for the video’s world premier and my mom getting freaked out when Mike turned into a zombie. It redefined the concept of the music video.

Well it looks like the King of Pop’s top secret project is a 25th anniversary edition “Thriller” album featuring remixes by Ye, Cornball and Akon. According to Jackson’s camp the remxed tracks are are “Billie Jean,” “The Girl Is Mine,” “Wanna Be Starting Something” and “Pretty Young Thing (PYT).” The album will also feature four tracks left of the original 1983 release including a track entitled ‘Don’t Be Messin’ Around’ which producer Bruce Swedien calls “a killer.”

I don’t know about yall but I’m semi-excited about this. I have a feeling Gleb you are too. Mike’s music always represented the best about performing and always knew what it meant to put out a classic album. This 25th Anniversary edition will pay homage to a fallen legend…”the good album.”
