In today’s Hip Hop isn’t sh*t news, Madonna announced that she is leaving Warner Brothers (her label for forever.) What does that have to do with Hip Hop? Well in a world where rap artist brag about their cash and swag, the classy Queen of Pop stepped out the box and got paid.

She has signed a ten-year deal with Live Nation (promoters of the worldwide Live Aid benefit concerts) and will receive $120 Million PLUS STOCK OPTIONS. Even Derek Jeter who received a similar deal didn’t get offered a piece of the Yankees.

So you’re thinking she’s gotta whore herself out for the next ten years right? Wrong. She’s obligated to only three studio albums and gives Live Nation the exclusive rights to promote her concerts which will generate huge followings and license her name and merchandise. Step your game up Hip Hop.

I’ve got mad respect for Madonna on this one. She is one of the smartest moguls in the music industry.
