Kanye to Launch Jewelry Line: A flop by design?

Kanye West is following in the footsteps of every other rapper/entertainer before him in the last 10 years and launching a line. Not a clothing line, hatwear line or line of cologne but a “jew ree” line. Yep, Kiwi West (As Dos Un calls him) is teaming up with skateboard designer, Takashi Murakami who illustrated the cover art for West’s new album, “Graduation” to take a stab a jewelry collection.
West was spotted wearing his a diamond-studded neck pendant from his collection at the Givenchy fashion show on during New York’s Fashion Week earlier this month. The piece is said to just be a prototype and the official launch of the collection is still undetermined.
Its kind of silly to launch a jewelry line. The reason why you would launch a clothing line is because in a way you already have a built in consumer base in your fans. However if you’re launching a jewelry line with diamond studded pieces the only yohans that could afford it would be people such as yourself who if they really wanted jew-ree could see Jacob or like you launch their own sh*t. West did however tell the Woman’s Magazine in an interview that his pieces will “be more accessible, they won’t be all diamonds.” They better all be accessible costume jewels because we know 99% of these hypercolor wannabe Kanye’s out here are rocking glass.
