If they go with John Stewart as the Green Lantern in THIS Green Lantern movie, then I will be royally disappointed. The Green Lantern was white to begin with, keep it that way and if they want to have John Stewart involved, have him make a cameo appearance but not as Green Lantern just yet. Do 2 more movies and in the third make it so he shows up as a GL. Simple as that.

Ty could play a good GL but, whoever playsthe role it shouldn’t be a white man. Green lantern became more popular whe nthey made him black. But i know his is random but i think commmon might be a great GL. The roles he’s played and him as a person fit the role better

I say no to Tyrese as GL. He was good in Transformers but I don’t think he would be good in the frontrunner role. Definately needs to be John Stewart though because DC is going with the new characters in the comics rather than the originals which makes sense seeing how its 2008 not 1988.. Second Wesley Snipes would be good but he cant because he’s with Marvel doing Blade and Samuel Jackson is too doing Nick Fury with the Avengers. Will Smith and Denzel are too big time for these kind of movies plus Will Smith is doing Hancock which is enough hero for him. I agree with the comment before about doing a no-name actor. I really think a bald Laurence Fishburne would be a great GL though.

i don’t think it matters if its a black guy or not as long as its a good story and good acting. sure the original was white but most people that watch the shows or read the books today know john stewart. also there isnt just one green lantern, there’s a green lantern corps. with multiple GLs that made apperences in thee shows and comics. so theres a posibility of a black guy, white guy, or both being in the movie, even if one is just a cameo.

Although I do think it would be cool for an African American to play a super hero who is actually a hero and not a former alcoholic or associated with demons, no offense to blade, spawn or will smith, I do not think that Tyrese happens to be that man. If I recall the last movie that he played in that was not a story based on “the streets” was Transformers. Personally, that was not a role that he will probably want to mention since all he did was have corny phrases here and there. I am sure that there is someone else who can play this role and not make it turn out like the first Hulk Movie.
