A jury awarded 11.6 Million to former Knick executive Anucha Browne Sanders who they determined was subject to crude insults and unwanted advances from Coach Isiah Thomas

A jury which was majority female decided that Thomas and MSG sexually harassed Sanders but decided only MSG and chairman James Dolan should pay for harassing and firing Browne Sanders from her $260,000-a-year job.
The result: The Garden owes $6 million for condoning a hostile work environment and $2.6 million for retaliation. Dolan owes $3 million.
Outside court, a beaming Browne Sanders insisted her victory was more about sending a message than the money.(Yeah Right)
“What I did here, I did for every working woman in America,” she said. “And that includes everyone who gets up and goes to work in the morning, everyone working in a corporate environment.”
. Thomas left the court angry and proclaimed his innocence
“I’m extremely disappointed that the jury did not see the facts in this case,” he said. “I will appeal this, and I remain confident in the man that I am and what I stand for and the family that I have.”
MSG officials will also appeal the decision. They are denying any wrong doing in what has turned into a P.R. nightmare for a franchise thats been on the downward spiral for a few years. The team hasn’t won a playoff game since Thomas was signed as president in December 2003 and has wasted millions this decade on a series of free-agent busts
The verdict also amounts to another blemish on the resume of Thomas, a two-time NBA champion whose post-playing career has been marked by one failure after another.

Jurors, who needed roughly two days to decide on the allegations but only about an hour to determine damages, declined to talk about the verdict or how they came to their decision.

In a lawsuit filed last January, the 44-year-old Browne Sanders sought $10 million in punitive damages, but the jury was free to deviate from that figure. The verdict also means the judge will determine and award compensatory damages in the coming weeks.

The harassment verdict was expected after the jury sent a note to the judge Monday indicating it believed Thomas, the Garden and Dolan sexually harassed Browne Sanders, a married mother of three and former vice president for marketing.

The jurors sat and listened as Browne Sanders testify that Thomas, after arriving as new team president, routinely addressed her as “bitch” and “ho” in outbursts over marketing commitments. He later did an abrupt about-face, declaring his love and suggesting an “off-site” liaison, she said.

Thomas admitted to using foul language around Sanders but never directly towards her.
Degrading a woman in the workplace “is never OK,” said Thomas, a married father of two. “It is never appropriate.”

Dolan and other team execs took the stand and denied that they witnessed or tolerated any sexual harassment .They testified Browne Sanders was fired because she was incompetent on budget matters, and because she later sought to undermine an internal inquiry into her allegations against Thomas
The turning point of the trial was when Knicks star point guard Stephon “Starbury” Marbury admitted to having consensual sex with an MSG intern in his car after a company function. The plaintiffs’ attorneys argued this demonstrated the organization’s frat house mentality.

MSG is owned by Cablevision Systems Corp., based in Bethpage, N.Y., and Dolan is Cablevision’s CEO. Shares fell 35 cents, or 1 percent, to $34.71 in afternoon trading.

This to me proves the rumors that Isiah is gay have you seen this Browne Sanders Broad she looks like Dolphins Linebacker Joey porter w/a womans business suit on. He was just hollering at her to keep the gaydar off his ass. This case was lost when Steph admitted to bangin the intern why would you go in court and say that, did you think that would be helpful like “naw we didn’t sexually harass them they just gave us the ass” with a predominantly female jury. The Knicks, Thomas, Dolan, MSG they all dropped the ball on this one and now there going to pay and pay big. Browne Sanders is going to need it to cause no one is hiring her anytime soon. I hope the Knicks season doesn’t go as bad as this trial went. BALLLIN!

IT’S SAD HOW SPORTS, LACK OF MORALS, AND HAVING NO CHARACTER JUST CORRUPTS ANY GOOD THING. I HOPE IN THE FUTURE COURTS WOULD DEMAND THAT WHOEVER WINS MUST BRING IN A TEAM OF TRAINED COUNSELORS OR PSYCHOLOGIST TO BRING SOME COMMON SENSE AND HELP RESTORE IF POSSIBLE SOME DIGNITY. SO THAT MONEY WON’T BE THE ONLY MESSAGE OF WINNING.

It’’s time for men all over the work place to stop caving in and start aggressively defending themselves against trumped up charges leveled by women who want to rule the work place. Law suits like this are nothing more or less than part of an over-all power play by women who’’s real goal is to be in charge. If they don’’t like the rules, file a law suit; , they don’’t get promoted, file a lawsuit; get fired because they don’’t perform, file a lawsuit; they don’’t like the conversation, file a law suit; they don’’t like a ““look””, file a lawsuit. And especially if they can accuse a black man who has money of any kind of ““sexual harassment””, that’’s a guaranteed payday. It’’s ok for women to flirt and make their sly sex-charged remarks but it’’s not ok for men to be themselves. Women are not going to be satisfied until they have men firmly spiked under their heels. Men with family’’s to feed and bills to pay, you better wake up or you will end up with the dirty end of the stick
