Hip Hop is Dead Exhibit 22A: Puffy to Hold Battle of the Scents

I’m blown away by how stupid hip hop has gotten sometimes. If there was ever a question as to if Hip Hop was dead Puffy answered it this week when he called out former flame Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani and Sarah Jessica Parker.
â€My fragrance is better than yours,†Diddy said in an internet video. “I invite them to come out and meet me on 5th Avenue. We will do a blind smell test and find out which smells better. The winner pays for the shopping spree. I am a man and I know how a woman should smell.â€
Smell test? 5th Avenue? I think you might want to take that one a little further downtown lets say Canal Street where the Africans are selling your clothes and cologne knock off. This is ridiculous. Has Puffy, an otherwise innovative marketing genius run out of ideas. A perfume duel? What’s next LL Cool J going to get into beef with Angelina Jolie over whose lips are sexier? I guess he was trying to play on the Kanye/ 50 Cent war. Ill conceived. It’s all downhill.

I don’t know if that proves Hip-Hop is dead. Puff is a businessman who dips into rap music, this was never said to have anything to do with Hip-Hop. Puff is being Puff, anything to draw attention to himself.
