Good Ole Down Home Carolina Brawl – NC A&T vs. NCCU

I have to give the folks at Shake Down Sports credit on this one. I was browsing and it caught my eye because of the Blue and Gold Uniforms. I thought that West Virginia University players were involved in another altercation, (this time while they were actually enrolled and on the field.) But much to my delight and subconscious disappointment the following involved North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central. I’m almost sure both schools are HBCU’s.
Apparently the schools have a history of bad blood stemming from the football rivalry. At the conclusion of the game which was dramatically ended by a game saving interception by NCCU, players stormed the visiting field and began stomping on A&T Logo at midfield. Let me guess…they were screaming “We Ready…We Ready!”
Obviously the actions enraged the dejected home team and their fans. I guess from the photos the local police weren’t exactly objective either. I wish I was there minus the pepper spray.
