Apple Catches Up With iPhone Unlocking Hackers

Did you really think you could hold Big Brother down for long? Did you hackers think that Apple didn’t have a million drones just like you chained up in the basement 2000 feet below ground thinking of ways to outsmart YOU?! Well they’ve done it AGAIN…IPhone owners who were elated when NJ hacker, George Holtz unlocked the popular handset for use on carriers other than AT&T today learned that Apple’s next update will dead all your work by rendering the phone useless. There have since been other methods that have been made available.ÂÂ
Apple’s planned software update scheduled to be issued later this week will add features such as accessibility to the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store but more importantly may end up making the device inoperable if it has been hacked into.
“This has nothing to do with proactively disabling a phone that is unlocked or hacked,” Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, said in an interview. “It’s unfortunate that some of these programs have caused damage to the iPhone software, but Apple cannot be responsible for … those consequences.”
Hackers however who have been offering unlocking software however have been blogging and reporting that Apple’s warning is nothing more than a scare tactic and for users not to get concerned. I guess we’ll find out later this week won’t we. iPhone unlocking has become popular in Europe because Apple will not release it there until November and thus Europeans who have bought their phones in the US don’t have a home service provider when they return to Europe. Buyer beware…Big Brother is always smarter. ÂÂ
