50 Cent appeared on NYC radio powerhouse Hot 97 with Angie Martinez to discuss his album’s sales performance in comparison to Kanye West’s.
Only after receiving the performance stats of the first day 50 seemed certain that his latest effort ’Curtis’ will land at the #2 position on the charts next week.
”To be honest the process of selling this record hasn’t been fun,” 50 Cent said. “I’m happy with the performance, but I’m not happy with the set up. We had conference calls and after we created this plan, nobody actually had a plan.”
The first day sales totaled 437,000 units for West’s ‘Graduation’ and 310,000 for 50’s ‘Curtis.’ the projections are that Kanye will sell approximately 575,000-700,000 and Fif ranging 550,000 - 600,000.
Fif also goes on to warn Def Jam:
Hypothetically, if I came in under Kanye West, I would release a new album every time Def Jam had a priority. I would release a record verses every one of their top priorities.”
50 also goes on to say that he’s pretty much done with Interscope (unless renegotiations go remarkably well) and that after he releases his next LP, ‘Before I Self Destruct,’ that he’s a free agent and is up for grabs…hopefully he won’t sign with Koch.
But Interscope is probably the biggest label out out there…where can he possibly go?

he can come on over to Highbrid Ent.
What business should be…but can’t.
Ah! hell don’t nobody care if fifty is going to leave and go to another label. all he is going to do is start beef where ever he land. I have never seen someone that has to start beef to sell records, and then cant out rap the person he’s beefing with. He’s not going to start beef with lil wayne cause he know he would end his career
