Over the past few weeks there have been extensive speculation and rumors about Jim Jones signing with G-Unit; I chose to ignore it because I thought that would be highly unlikely to happen. Now there appears to be smoke coming from the G-Unit camp…and where there is smoke there’s fire.

According to Illseed of ‘All Hip Hop’ Jim Jones taped an interview for BET’s ‘Rap City’ but the kick is who interviewed him…none other than 50 Cent (I wonder what Cam’s thinkin’).  Once the interview was wrapped up the folks over at BET say that they will be making a major annoucement.

Could it be Jim Jones signing to the G-Unit imprint? Jones has always stated Koch is where he wants to build his star power and then eventually sign with a major…if the RUMOR holds to be true Jones could have the Interscope machine behind. At a time where Cam is beefing with 50, the rest of the Dips remained silent and Jones even offered to record with 50…time will tell what this all leads to.

Personally, I think they’ll annouce they’ll record together or do some type of business venture…it would be a dumb move on Jim Jones’ part…he’ll be going backwards; he’s pretty much the face of the Dips now, so why would he damage that to be a soldier in 50’s army? I don’t think he’s signing but they’re doing business.

50 Cent interviewed with BET.com and addressed the Jim Jones to G-Unit rumor. Here’s what he had to say:

“I won’t be signing him, but I don’t have a problem with him,” he admitted. 50 kicked off the  year beefing with Jones’ Dipset cohort, Cam’ron, but says he didn’t let it affect his overall opinion of Jones. “I kept him out of the decision that Cam’ron made to jump out there.”
