Steve Jobs gave one of his famous press events today and dropped a whole lot of information. CrunchGear was there and covered the event. So lets start at the bottom and work our way to the top…
- New Nano which feature video larger brighter display, full metal enclosure, available in 4 gig and 8 gig models
- Regular iPod now called “iPod Classic” and will now also come in a full metal version with a 160 gig model available
- New iPOd TOUCH featuring everything included in the iPhone but without the “phone part”. Built in WiFi (?!?) and a portable version of iTunes so you can buy music on the go and transfer it back to your home computer. Runs different applications such as Safari Browser. Don’t think I was the only only who predicted the TOUCH
- Partnership with Starbucks. Basically whenever you are near a Starbucks your iPod will let you know what song is playing in there and you can listen to it and downlod it if you please.
Wow, I’ve had my video iPod for over 2 years. Guess its finally time for me to upgrade. Since I’m with Sprint and not AT&T, an iPhone is not an option for me. However I think that new iPod may be the second best thing

I’ve always been one to think not to put your eggs all in one basket. Having an all-in-one is convenient but not practical for those who do business on the regular. I’d rather have my iPod and my phone separate (in case of damage).
But I’m into gadgets so I have a back up phone in case my main phone breaks (that is what insurance is for).
Itouch huh? That one snuck by me. Ingenious cause it offers all of the benefits of the iPhone but for people who don’t want to switch services its perfect.
As i said above I kinda predicted the Touch iPod. It only makes sense. So many people wanted an iPhone but it was never because they wanted to make calls on it.
