Well it looks like the wedding is now off…at least for now. Usher apparently cancelled the wedding hours before the ceremony was set to begin at the Southampton home music mogul L.A. Reid. The 100 or so guests including the likes of Beyoncé and Jay Z, Ashanti and Nelly, and Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri  were all left scratching their heads by the sudden cancellation, according to the New York Post.
The big question is why. Well we know why. Mom dukes. Usher’s mother, who was fired by her son this spring from her post as manager, reportedly never received an invitation. The New York Daily News, however said was in fact invited at the last minute, though she said through a source that she did not want to go.
The Post also said Usher’s godfather, actor Ben Vereen became an issue because he had been un-invited because of his view of Foster.Â
People magazine quoted a guest who said: “The tents were up. And they paid all of the people, the vendors, so that wasn’t an issue. … Hotel rooms were an issue. Janet [Jackson] was coming, but she had eight security people. Ashanti and Nelly were coming.”     Â
Tameka’s half-sister, Valencia Foster recently told the National Enquirer that she was asked by Usher to tell him about Tameka’s past during a  “in-laws†dinner in Tameka’s home.Â
“Before I could say a word, Tameka kicked me so hard under the table she almost put a hole in my leg,” Valencia told the tabloid.” Then she pulled me aside and whispered: ‘Don’t tell him anything.’”  Valencia said Tameka moved in with her when she was 11, arriving with $14 in food stamps in her purse,” she said. “She turned out to be a nightmare. By 14, she had become involved with a married drug dealer five years older than her. I banned him from the house – but four years later she was pregnant with his baby when his car was ambushed and he was riddled with bullets. Tameka missed being with him in the car by minutes.”
This is a mess. Its not even clear whether the couple is still together or plans to still marry. Stay tuned.Â
