Aight this is for all my ethnic readers out there of which I’d imagine we have many.  Did you ever wish that you were…white?  I know I did at least a couple times growing up.  It always seemed that being white was so much better.  I think the turning point for me was definitely adolescence when I realized White boys like…white girls for whom I have no attraction.  Especially the hind quarters unless you’re real curvy the blanquitas rarely do it for me.

Well like most of us Kelly Rowland went through the same thing and told Essence Magazine this month that she once wanted to look white. “It’s said that brown-skinned girls don’t sell magazines and that’s so sad,” she says in next month’s issue. “I remember wishing I was more fair-skinned, but Tina Knowles, Beyoncé‘s mom, would say, ‘Don’t you know how beautiful you are?’ She made me come into my brown beauty. I didn’t get it, but now I do. I am chocolate and beautiful and loving it.”

Sad but true, most of us have a story similar to that.  Be proud of your skin no matter what color it is.

I always thought Kelly looked good though she is way too skinny at times. I guess i knew that before she did.
