It Looks like New York Knicks head coach and general manager, Isiah Thomas is in hot water again with the never ending Anucha Browne Sanders saga.   The former female executive who has been suing Thomas and the Knicks for sexual harassment has recruited an ally. 

 

According to the New York Daily News, Thomas allegedly encouraged, Petra Pope the director of the Knicks City Dancer to flirt with the referees prior to a game verses the Nets in 2004.  According to Browne Sander’s testimony, Pope was told to ”go into the referees’ locker room and make them happy.”  The revelation was made public as part of a petition to counter the Knicks attempt to have her lawsuit dismissed.  

The Browne Sanders complaint has sited many incidents including claims that she was fired from her executive position with the Knicks following her “whistle blowing” of a consensual but inappropriate sexual relationship between Knicks guard Stephon Marbury and a member of her staff.  She also has accused Thomas of telling her he was “very attracted” to her and “in love” with her and tried to kiss her. 

First of all I seriously doubt Sanders simply saying that a Knicks City Dancers exec was sexually harassed by Thomas is good enough for a court of law.  That’s a little thing we call hear-say.  There is clearly some financial gain for this young woman and little to none that could have been gained by Thomas’ alleged actions which has always baffled me about the case.  I’m leaning on the side that this is all a figment of her imagination but I wouldn’t put it past Thomas.  Money makes people believe they are above the law… this would apply to WHICHEVER party is in fact guilty in this case…ironic.
