Wesley Snipes takes aim at site who, he says, got Tax Evasion story wrong.

Last October we reported that Wesley Snipes was indicted on $12 Million tax evasion charges.  There were also reports that Snipes might be hiding out in South Africa the same place that in 2005, he was refused admission after he was said to try and enter the country with a fake passport. Last October we reported that Wesley Snipes was indicted on $12 Million tax evasion charges.  There were also reports that Snipes might be hiding out in South Africa the same place that in 2005, he was refused admission after he was said to try and enter the country with a fake passport. The story was highly publicized and I even poked fun of it.

One of our favorite sites, EURweb.com, also reported the original story and on June 12th their editorial writer, Mo’ Kelly wrote a follow up entitled Wesley Trent Snipes…Yo a$$ is going to jail.  He shared some slightly opinionated views on Snipes’ motivation and whereabouts.  Oddly enough, Snipes responded to the site’s publisher, Lee Bailey in a formal letter.  For copyright reason’s I won’t reprint the letter but click hear to see it.  Its a very interesting read if you’re at all interested in Snipes, the actor.

First of all I think it’s very interesting that Snipes actually read this story on the internet.  It was a good one, very over the top but cut right to the chase.  Snipes has been a controversial figure but never what I’d consider to be a superstar actor. But as you’ll read he compares his tax troubles to the likes of Mohammed Ali, Jack Johnson, Willie Mays, Jackie Robinson, Paul Robeson, and James Brown?  Come on you’re not in their league.  By the way does Snipes have a star on the walk of fame yet?  I understand that’s not the point but we have a term in baseball called rabbit ears.  As an actor you need to learn to block this ish out.  If you disagree sue them if its that important but by responding with a letter and signing it “Dr. Wesley Snipes” you look guilty and look stupid.  Paz.
