“Da Shop Boyz- Rockstar Mentality” Briefing

Al’ight, the only things that really separates these dudes from your standard southern group in ATL is the rockstar style approach. They got some joints that you’d probably NEVER hear another rapper or group from ATL ACTUALLY DO!!! Example…the song “Rollin,” sounds like you need to sell that Chevy donk an get a chopper. Straight Harley-Davidson son. And title track “Rockstar Mentality”…Just hotness enough said. The direction this album takes took me completly off guard from what I expected from ATL(almost the same way Outkast did, but dont get it twisted this dont compare to the Dungeon masters themselves!). But I give more credit production wise than lyrically. An that said, if you want Jeezy-esk trap music you got two songs in my opinion:”Bowen Homes” “World On Fire” After that, if your taste in music is limited and your stuck in that one zone, this aint for you really.
Key Cuts:
“Bowen Homes,” “They Like Me,” “Next To Me,” “Rockstar Mentality,” “Totally Dude,”
I take this just above average because it doesnt just sound like its for the hood, an it can reach alot more people.
I would actually cop it, but thats me. So get ya Itunes/FYE on and check out audio samples.
