One of my favorite sites on the internet right now is Geni.com. I love the idea of a social networking site based around creating a family tree with your family. I’m fro that school of thought that says you must know where you’ve come from to know where you are going (shout out to Jessica Alba). However, as my tree has grown I’ve run into a problem over and over. The problem being that many people either aren’t sure who their father is or the person who they believe is their father really might not be (shout out to Maury Povich). Huge problem when you are trying to trace your roots (shout out to Alex Haley…okay I done).

Ancestry.com may have come up with something that may help, a DNA database. User of the site will be able to match their DNA to others in the Database in hopes of finding matches and being able to figure out the exact relation between them. I presonally think this is a great idea. I think it’s sad that so many people aren’t able to trace their family history either due to a absent father or a mother who dumb enough not to know who the father of her child is (yeh I said it).

Ancetry.com plans to charge $200 for the DNA matching service and hopes that the service will pay off more for users as the DNA database grows.

And as for you dumb mothers and absent fathers, I wish the worst pain on you. I hope someone hits your soul in the crotch with a frozen sledgehammer and then rips out your heart and drops it in a bucket of tears (shout out to Steve Carell ;)).

You are full of shout outs today. Link this up with the FBI’s DNA database and then you will really have something.

You may find your long lost sister that lives three doors down. Get the FBI involved and track that father down for those child support checks.
