Preview of MTV’s Friday Series

Looks like Ice Cube has gotten with MTV to create a animated series based on the Friday movies. Honestly I don’t think it’s gonna work. First of all, the show is based on a movie franchise which was aimed towards black folks. Guess what? Black people don’t watch MTV (for that matter does anyone watch MTV?). Secondly it looks too much like a Nick Toon. Cube should have gotten with Cartoon Network, Spike TV or Comedy Central to get this poppin’. Instead we will see one season made and then MTV will rerun it to death for the next four years like they do all their other shows. Just the fact that they don’t even have John Witherspoon to voice himself because he’s doing the Boondocks speaks volumes.
