No Grey Area: Anatomy Star Washington Gets the Can.

The contentious relationship with Grey’s Anatomy and its embattled star Isaiah Washington is over. It was widely speculated but now official that Washington would not return to the show after his character Dr. Burke’s character seemed to have been written the perfect exit by the show’s writers in last month’s season finale.Â
The announcement is no surprise after  Washington, 43, was accused of calling fellow actor T.R. Knight a “faggot” last fall during an on-set incident. Within days of the incident becoming public, Knight announced he was gay…ahhhh I think we figured that much out already.
Washington retracted his prejudice comments and launched a public service announcement for GLAAD, saying that “words have power,” which aired during a repeat of Grey’s in May. But his attempts were futile and so he got the can.
It’s unfortunate that his behavior lead him down this path. He has a temper and obviously doesn’t know when and where to say certain things. This role was a huge boost for his career and a far cry from his supporting of supporting cast roles in movies like Love Jones. Let’s just hope for his dumb ass that he’s not banished to similar roles from here out.

[…] Isiah Washington, the recently fired cast member of ABC’s hit series “Grey’s Anatomy” and my guilty pleasure has issued a statement concerning his departure.  I can only take one day at a time. I can only apologize so many times. I can only accept so much responsibility. All the players involved have taken care of what we needed to take care of in-house — and the media took it in a different direction. I hope that everyone is happy for the outcome for Isaiah, but Isaiah will go on and do what I love to do. And I have to go about the business of letting people know what’s written about me is not the truth. I’m merely an actor, a husband, and a father who’s trying to do a great job and be very grateful and understanding that I’m in a very privileged position. This isn’t a time for me to be looking back; it’s only a time for me to be looking forward. I just hope people can understand in the industry and otherwise that it’s a horrible misunderstanding what transpired with our show and it was blown out of proportion. If the naysayers out there feel that some justice has been served and that they’re happy with the outcome, so be it. It’s incumbent on me to take what I do, do it well, grow from the experience, and move on. […]

Its hard enough for black actors as it is…his career is a wrap.
He made it hard for himself. When opportunity comes knocking and you open the door you invite opportunity in and exploit for all its worth. You don’t go serve it lemonade with piss in it. Which is what he did. Pissed all over his career.
Shame.
