I ran across this video and had to show you guys. Its of a new interface Microsoft has created to be used with in table tops. They call the app Microsoft Surface. Now did you notice I said in tabletops and not on tabletops. The interface allows users to manipulate and control objects on the screens surface as if they were real objects sitting on the table. So far they have anounced that this surface top computers will be seen in places like resturants (imagine ordering your food from a screen with the table you are sitting at), hotel (looking at maps in the lobby before heading out in the town and retail stores. I think you may get a better idea if I just showed you. So check out this video of the new interface in action.

[…] A few days ago I did a post on Microsoft’s Surface platform which is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a long time (sorry iPhone ). Here’s some more footage of the tech in action. This time being shown off by none other than Microsoft Supreme Overlord Founder Bill Gates. Now imagine if they were able to get this to work with that new stuff Sony has recently debuted. […]

[…] As I’ve reported before Microsoft has created some interesting technology which they call Microsoft Surface which acts as a tabletop computer. I stumbled on this commercial. If you weren’t excited about Surface before you certainly will be after watching this! […]

YO…that perhaps was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Transferring files wirelessly without plugins, USB cords, drivers etc. Being able to manipulate more than one point on a screen simultaneously this is the new wave of computing. Imagine Mapquest…you can call up a map of New York and trace with your finger your route and Mapquest will then spit out the directions instantaneously. Amazing. I can only imagine the implications it will have in my field of marketing.
yeh i was thinking that the app was just “cool” until i seen the trick with the camera and cell phone. Then my feeling was “i need one of these now!”
That looked like that stuff from The Matrix Reloaded when they entered into Zion for the first time on screen. That has me excited as hell, the price had me in awe too only $5,000 - $10,000 (not that I can afford it) but I would think that it would go for at least $30,000 and up. Presentations would be way better with that rather than Power Point and a mouse.
I need one now.
i think when steven spielberg made minority report he brought in people from microsoft. i think my child may destroy that if i bought it but its definitely hot!
Microsoft has more in store than they will lead you to believe. That Minority Report scene wasn’t a game. That type of technology actually exists. But they don’t need the gloves. There is an entire department dedicated to the technology in Washington State.
It isn’t a game people. The future is now.
