“If YOu Dont Got It…Get It: “Styles P - The Ghost Sessions”
For those of you who were a little…”eh” about the last album release by vetern L.O.X. member “Styles P.” (a.k.a. For those of you who were a little…”eh” about the last album release by vetern L.O.X. member “Styles P.” (a.k.a. S.P., The Ghost, The Phantom, Holiday, ‘”Boss” when he cross the border”)…“TIME IS MONEY EP.” Lemme suggest right now “STYLES P-THE GHOST SESSIONS.” Its been a long time since I heard a hiphop album actually WORTH buying. This album features production from “Large Professor, Havoc from Mobb Deep, Street Radio, an M.O.P. member “Fizzy Womack”…in which I might add gave “P” a BANGER!!! My top picks off this album though:”F**K The Police,” “Hold On,” “The Struggle”…yet there are so many others. I’m surprise Sheek & Jada(other 2 members of the LOX) are not on this album. Yet Cormega, JaeHood, Kool G Rap as well as others are. Another odd thing…the bonus ROCK tracks that killed my rating for this album. Styles rhymes over rock just didnt fit well. He’s the ghost…those tracks need a banshee, lol.
Man if the magazines dont do it, I will…
My Rating:

YES ITS THAT SERIOUS!!! I can ride almost straight through this one.

[…] …AY…If you dont live up Washington Heights(see Brooklyn), dont play NBA LIVE(05), or have been under a rock believing Hip hop actually died at one time. Then your just in time for me to tell you about Joell Ortiz’s new Koch released album. “The Brick-Bodega Chronicles.” Now this has been out for a while(late April to be exact) but it DEFINATLY deserves attention because Ortiz delivers 60 minutes of straight…fire!!! I listened to this album start to finish everyday for the past week an NEVER stopped nodding my head to wonder…”Do I like this song?,” lol! YOu can feel the realness, soaking up every punchline and relating to his vivid picture painting of life in the hood. Joell mostly goes on about the need to get this money, the struggles, and loving the art of hiphop. I thought that Styles P-The Ghost Sessions was serious, but this here takes the cake. People who would want this album have albums like:”Beanie Sigel-The Truth.” “Kool G Rap-Gianncana Story” “Lox-We R The Streets” “Big Pun-Capital Punishment” in their collections, just to give you an idea, you feel me? So buy a geniune copy for real. It’s well worth it. […]

I definitely got to pick this one up even though I have to disagreew/ur assesment of the Time is Money joint that was fire but styles is probably one of the most under celebrated hip hop artisits of our day. Time has also shown that he’s the strongest member of the lox.
4 and a half H-Blades out of 5 you say? I guess I’ll have to scoop this one up.
