Not to long ago I went to check out Spider-man 3 on opening night. I remember there was a part where a older man with dark glasses appeared on screen and upon seeing him about half of the audience went nuts. The other half kinda just looked around confused as if they didn’t understand the punchline to a really good joke. I just kinda smiled to myself because I knew who the old guy was. He was Stan “The Man” Lee. He’s the guy who co-created such iconic characters as Spider-man, The X-men, the Fantastic Four and the Hulk. Lee’s brief cameo was not likely a surprise to fans because he has had a cameo in almost every movie based on a Marvel comic book. Check out the video below and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Most of you probably never paid enough attention to notice that he was showing up in all of these movies.

Stan has long stopped having an active in business at Marvel and is kinda seen as mostly a figurehead. He also has the Reality TV show Who Wants To Be A Superhero. I doubt the guy actually has to work though. I’m sure his raking in all sorts of royalties these days.

So now next time you go see the upcoming Iron Man movie you don’t have to be one of the people looking around confused because you know who that old guys is now.

I just read them…never payed attention to who created them. But I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

  2. Urban Thought says:

I’ve noticed that about the Marvel movies. I think it’s great that he appears in what has been his life’s work.

  3. Evorgleb says:

yeh its cool that the industry pays him so much respect. to this day all marvel comics say “Stan Lee Presents” even though he has nothing to do with the company anymore.
