There is something that could always be said about going to a Pittsburgh Steelers game. You won’t see any cheerleaders and you won’t see any goofy mascots.

Now that is only half true because the Steelers have debuted their first ever mascot as part of the franchise’s 75th Aniversary. The mascot is supposed to look like a rugged steel worker as a tribute to the name of the team as well as the history of the city. Along with the new mascot, the Steelers are getting new throwback uniforms (yeh I know that doesn’t make much sense) that they will wear during a few games in the upcoming season featuring a gold colored helmet (pictured above).

The Steelers new mascot doesn’t have a name yet and it is expected that the Steelers franchise will hold a contest to pick a name. According to a poll running on Pittsburgh’s local news station WPXI’s website no one may really care. At the time of me writing this story, the poll on the website says that only 39% of Steelers fans actually like the new mascot.
