Snoop Dogg‘s high profile/ international mainstream image mixed with his long criminal wrap sheet is starting to catch up to him.  Recently, he was bounced at the door of the United Kingdom, where he was scheduled to tour with Diddy.
Â
Well now Snoop is getting the stiff arm from Australia as well, where he was scheduled to host the MTV Australia Video Music Awards. Australian Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews says,Â
“The reality is in relation to this man, that he was given a warning the last time [he was in Australia], he has a whole string of convictions, and, just two weeks ago I was told he was convicted on a number of charges again and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on two, and three years’ imprisonment on another, with five years’ probation and a suspended sentence. He has been denied entry into the United Kingdom because he was caught with others causing affray at Heathrow Airport. He doesn’t seem the sort of bloke we want in this country.”Â
Bloke? Honestly I’m not going to make light of this situation. It’s a serious problem. Snoop is probably one of the most internationally renowned “stars” in hip hop. However it is his criminal background and propensity to get in trouble that is getting him denied at the door. As hip hop goes more and more mainstream we will see this trend continue. Because we all know in order to get credence in the game you got to get shot like 50 or do a bid or two like Snoop. A lot of “our” up and coming stars have criminal records.Â

Isnt he already banned in the UK?
True, a lot of people have criminal records. That could change though, hopefuly. Some popular ones have a small or zero crime record, but the get hated on by the hip-hop community.
