WFNY-FM’s “The Dog house with JV and Elvis” were the latest victims of the media sensitivity witchhunt.  Still recovering from the Don Imus firing, CBS Radio suspended two New York City radio DJ’s after they prank called employees at a Chinese restaurant live and re-aired it several days later thinking it wasn’t funny enough the first time.  One of the hosts, Jeff Vandergrift, apologized on Monday’s show, CBS spokeswoman Karen Mateo said.

In the segment, which orignially aired on April 5, one day after the Imus’ comments and was re-aired last week, a caller, presumably one of the hosts attempts to takeout order from a local Chinese restaurant. The caller asks for among other things “shrimp flied lice.” and tells one female employee he wants to come see her “hot, Asian, spicy.”

California state Sen. Leland Yee and several advocacy groups were among those protesting the segment. “If they don’t fire the DJ’s, it will be a double standard,” said Vicki Shu Smolin, president of the New York City chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans.

The show’s hosts, Vandergrift and Dan Lay, have been campaigning online and on the air in support of Imus since his firing on April 4.
