2008 Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG

The new Benz CL 65 AMG: 6.0-liter, twin-turbo V-12 with 604 horsepower, mated to an AMG Speedshift five-speed automatic transmission with the expected sport, comfort, and manual settings and shift paddles on the steering wheel. Per usual, top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. Ever-conservative Mercedes claims 0 to 60 mph takes 4.4 seconds, about the same as in the SL65, but we can likely get it done in the high threes. The CL600’s puny little 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-12 makes only 510 horses, but for $147,575, that’s about all you can expect. For the CL65, don’t plan on much change back from $200,000. Its Autoweek in NYC stay tuned for more crazy whips…
