Robert L. Johnson is easily the most succesful black man in history. He became the country’s first Black billionaire after he sold the Black Entertainment Television network (BET) for $3 billion in 2000. He is the first Black owner of a major sports team, the NBA’s first-year Charlotte Bobcats, which Johnson named after himself.
