ABC’s hit medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy has been diagnosed with the spin-off syndrome. A special two-hour episode, featuring cast member Kate Walsh and guest star Taye Diggs, is in the test run phase for a possible new spin-off series according to an ABC spokesperson.

Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes is developing the series premise and the episode will air sometime this season. Walsh plays neonatal surgeon Addison Shepherd, part of the romantic triangle involving Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) and intern Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).
