New Music Videos: Common feat. Will.i.am, “A Dream”

First let me say I AM NOT A WILL.I.AM FAN. I’ve hated almost everything the Black Eyed Peas have done. Commom on the other hand is one of the most talented emcees in the biz today. Only thing about Common is he tends to drift away from a raw rap and makes music that is a bit more…ecletic (see Electric Circus). So he’s always been a bit hit or miss though his last album was fire thanks in part to Kanye West‘s tight production. This video is from his upcoming album and definately doesn’t come out the gate as strong as “The Corner” did off the last LP. “A Dream” isn’t really a song I see myself bumpin’ but it does have a nice lil message and I’d much rather hear a little kid singing these lyrics than one of those Pretty Ricky songs. Visually the video is tight and you gotta love the MLK bits in there. Hmm…Now that I think about it, Could Common be setting himself up to have the new anthem for Martin Luther King Day which is right around ‘the corner’ (pun intended
)?
