On a day when U.S. news stories are few and far between (sundays) the death sentence was pronounced for former Iraqi dictator Sadaam Hussein. It was received with mixed emotions in Iraq as almost every Iraqi was eagerly anticipating the result. He and two other co-defendants were found guilty for their roles in the 1982 massacre in the Shiite town of Dajail, Iraq. Hussein was sentenced to death by hanging. President Bush called the verdict “a major achievement for Iraq’s young democracy.”
Skee: It almost seems like a forgone conclusion that Hussein would get the penalty. The fact that he will be hanged is a story in itself. I’m not sure how I feel about it. Gas would have done the trick. For a man who was just convicted of killing others in a cruel and unusual way, it seems ironic the leader of a nation, no matter how bad a guy he was, to be killed for committing the same act that is now being done to him. CHIME IN!

yeh executions such as hanging and firing squad are still common place in other parts of the world. They dont share the US’s concept of “humane” killing. I figure is you are gonna die, why doesn it matter how. Or maybe you should just get to pick. Anyway, The cause is going to move into an automatic appeal. I figure by the time this is all over, the guy will have dies of old age.
