Google recently announced the release of Gmail for your mobile device. It comes in the form of a free downloadable Java applet. It gives Gmail users the cosmetic look of their online Gmail interface while optimized for mobile handheld devices. To download Gmail mobile on your handheld device, point your phone to gmail.com/app to download the applet.
Currently, on-the-go Gmail users can access their accounts through the built in mobile browsers on their mobile devices, however they are a great deal of limitations to the application’s functionality.
The mobile version is complete with the basics: search, conversation view, and automatic synchronization. In addition Gmail for mobile devices comes with up to five times faster access and use, drastically reduced clicks and scrolling to access email, one-touch keystroke for reading, composing, or searching mail and the ability to view attachments, including files and photos, viewable and automatically resized to fit the user’s handheld device.
Skee: I’m a hotmail user but I checked it out. Its pretty hot. I give it a B+
