The controversal cartoon series “South Park” is back at it again. This time the show’s creaters have parodied the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. Irwin, who was killed by a stingray’s barb while snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef in September is not the first celebrity to have a “shot” taken at him. Most recenlty, Issac Hayes was humiliated after resigning as the voice of “Chef.” The Irwin episode, aired earlier this week, shows Satan, whose hosting a Halloween party for guests included formerly Princess Diana, Hitler and Notorious B.I.G. Irwin, another guest was depicted in a bloodstained shirt with a stingray still attached to his chest.
South Park maker Comedy Central defended the episode. A South Park/ Comedy Central spokesperson stated the show “has offended people in the past and probably will again. Regular watchers would not be shocked.”
SKEE: I’ma be honest. Although its a tragedy, Irwin spent his life setting himself up for a Southpark episode. The guy was an idiot. I haven’t seen the episode but I bet it was more entertaining than his Discovery Channel performances. Crikey!
FILED IN TV

Well I don’t think anyone is above being poked fun at on South Park. I think it is a little insensetive since his death is still pretty fresh. Though many people feel that his antics were a bit insane, the guy had quite a follow and was extremely loved in his native Australia. I’m sure there are many people who are upset about how his death is joked about so soon after it happened.
They have made fun in the past and will in the future. I think it is a little insensitive, but they make fun of Hitler who is dead, people dress up as Elvis and jump out of planes, and others have been made fun of, so what’s the diffrence?
the difference is that Irwin just died
One of the great things in this country is the freedom of speech and debate. Now of course Irwin wasn’t from here but South Park is. As a “Public Figure” he’s open to criticism, ridicule and in this case being made fun of. Guilty of incensitivity? fine. It hasn’t been the first TV Show and it won’t be the last.
