The world has changed. People aren’t going into stores and buying music like they used to. Album sales in retail locations have been on a steady decline for several years. Artists who used to go multiplatinum are now struggling to go gold. However, people are still listening to music. Maybe more so now than ever. The means in which they get that music is what is different. People would rather go to the bootlegger in thier barbershop or thier favorite music website to satisfy thier audio needs than to thier closest music retail store. Highbrid Entertainment understands that and is prepared to change the game and stay ahead of the curve with its new release, iBrid.
“This is where the industry is headed. Electronic music releases. We’re trying to stay current with the trends and ahead of the curve. iBrid takes advantage of In-Demand generation. Highbrid, now at your fingertips”, commented Highbrid producer and co-founder Juan “Skee Stylus” Perez.
The thing that makes iBrid different from the average album release is that it is availible only online. Highbrid has partnered with several online stores such as iTunes Music Store, Napster, Rhapsody, eMusic, Musicnet and Sony Connect to make sure that people can easily find the project online. The EP includes seven tracks by Highbrid artists Cahmodity, Rascal, Pop and Gem*Star with production by Evorgleb and the Haymakers.
“iBrid is just another peice of the puzzle for our new business model. This is how we are going to sell music for now on,” explained Mike “Evorgleb” Belgrove, who is the executive producer for the project. “We will continue to do our free mixtapes but if you want check out the back catalog of music and some exclusive stuff you are going to have to hit up iTunes or one of the other online music stores. Its a great move for us because now we don’t have to worry about our albums sitting on shelves collecting dust in one store while another store is calling us up because they can’t keep up with the demand. Supply and demand are equal now.”
Evorgleb has also said that he’d like to do EPs such as iBrid in between other major releases to keep the flow of music steady for Highbrid fans. For now though the guys at Highbrid are extremely happy with iBrid and are looking for it to do big things.
“Seven more Highbrid Fam classics you can add to ya H library. that kid POP is sick son!”, said an excited Marcus “Two1″ Holmes when he was asked about the project.
