Highbrid Helps To Find Missing Children
H Conglomerate
Highbrid Outdoor (a sister company of Highbrid Nation) has recently teamed up with Ad Council to help to increase awareness about the Amber Alert system which is used to help find missing children. The following is a press release talking about the partnership.
BUSINESS WIRE –Statistics show that when a child is abducted, the first three hours are most critical to recovery efforts. Since its creation, the AMBER Alert program has helped reunite more than 300 children with their families. The Wireless AMBER Alerts initiative was launched in May 2005 as a way to extend the AMBER Alert program by reaching out to the nearly 70% of the American population that uses wireless devices. Sponsored by The National Center For Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), The Wireless Foundation, The Advertising Council, Inc. and the U.S. Department of Justice and created pro bono by ad agency Merkley + Partners, the national PSA campaign is designed to educate the public about Wireless AMBER Alerts, inspire cell phone users and other wireless subscribers to register for the Alerts and, in turn, increase the number of people who may be able to help in locating an abducted child.
Highbrid Outdoor has donated advertising space on their commuter vans for one month, in an effort to educate New Yorkers about this important issue. The van is designed to reflect the newspaper PSA currently running in the market. The image shows a vehicle that could be carrying an abducted child. The copy reads “Nothing on this van tells you that an abducted child is inside. Something on your cell phone could.” The compelling copy is intended to inform the public that if they have a cell phone, they might be able to help save an abducted child. During the pre-game events at this game, staff will be available at the van to help game attendees sign up for Wireless AMBER Alerts on their cell phones. -0- *T WHO: Roxanne Robbins, Manager, Public Affairs, The Wireless Foundation Tracy Della Torre, Assistant Campaign Manager, Ad Council Juan Perez, CEO, Highbrid Outdoor WHAT: Wireless AMBER Alerts Sign-up WHEN: Monday, September 25, 2006 5:00 PM WHERE: Shea Stadium, Gate E 123-01 Roosevelt Avenue Flushing, NY 11368 *T
