Farrakhan To Step Down From Leading Nation Of Islam; Due To Illness

Leader of the Black Muslim group the Nation of Islam, Minister Louis Farrakhan, 73, has handed over his overseeing of day-today operations due to illness.
Farrakhan has said the he is suffering from an “ulcer in the anal area.†The ulcer was discovered by doctors in Cuba back in March. More recently Physicians from Howard University in Washington D.C. discovered an infection and inflammation. Farrakhan has stated that he is dehydrated and anemic. Over the past six weeks is it believed that Farrakhan has lost 20 – 35 pounds.
Farrakhan goes on to state “I am forced to do what is necessary to restore myself nutritionally. Otherwise, my present condition could be life-threatening.”
Back in 2000, Farrakhan was operated on for prostate cancer. Farrakhan is currently recuperating in his Michigan home and is said to be in great spirits.
