The “Greatest Hype Man Alive” is preparing to drop his first and only solo project, Flavor Flav!. These days the star of Flavor of Love is more known for his reality show antics than he is for contributions to hip hop music but many will remember him as part of the politcal rap group Public Enemy. In Public Enemy, Flav usually played the hype man role to Chuck D. However, Flav has done songs by himself in the past and has even scored a hit with 1990′s 911 Is A Joke off of Public Enemy’s Fear Of The Black Planet album.
Even though VH1 has said that the second season of Flavor of Love will likely be the last and they plan on starting a new similar series staring one of the female contestants from the show, don’t expect Flav to move into a new career as a solo recording artist. Flav has said Flavor Flav! will be his only solo album. He plans on recording more music with Public Enemy and will likely continue to do reality television as VH1 has said they are interested in doing a new series with Flav.
911 Is A Joke
Evorgleb: I don’t even know what to think of this. Is this going to be a serious project or a joke?
