The “Greatest Hype Man Alive” is preparing to drop his first and only solo project, Flavor Flav!. These days the star of Flavor of Love is more known for his reality show antics than he is for contributions to hip hop music but many will remember him as part of the politcal rap group Public Enemy. In Public Enemy, Flav usually played the hype man role to Chuck D. However, Flav has done songs by himself in the past and has even scored a hit with 1990’s 911 Is A Joke off of Public Enemy’s Fear Of The Black Planet album.
Even though VH1 has said that the second season of Flavor of Love will likely be the last and they plan on starting a new similar series staring one of the female contestants from the show, don’t expect Flav to move into a new career as a solo recording artist. Flav has said Flavor Flav! will be his only solo album. He plans on recording more music with Public Enemy and will likely continue to do reality television as VH1 has said they are interested in doing a new series with Flav.

Evorgleb: I don’t even know what to think of this. Is this going to be a serious project or a joke?

[…] As we recently reported in another article VH1 has indeed decided to give a new reality show to one of the contestants from a previous season of “Flavor of Love”. Execs were tightlipped until very recently when it was revealed that the lady starring in the show will be none other than Tiffany Patterson a.k.a. New York. Those who followed both season’s of the highly popular Flavor of Love know that New York made it the finals in season one only to lose out to Nikki “Hoops” Alexander but was brought back halfway through season two only to lose once again to London “Deelishis” Charles in a very “dramatical” season closer. It appears as though the new series starring Patterson will be called “Flavorette” and in already close to wrapping up. […]
