Rapper Peedi Peedi, formerly known as Peedi Crakk, is preparing to release a new album in early 2007. Though the album is not complete yet, Def Jam is already preparing to release Peedi’s first single called “Take Me Home,” featuring Megan Rochell. Guests lined up to appear on the album include Jay-Z, Twista, Ne-Yo and Bun B.

In related news rumors have been going around that Peedi has been drafted as the newest member of The Roots though this has not been confirmed.

Evorgleb: I’m not too familiar with Peedi’s music. Only heard him on a few joints when he was part of State Property but if Jay-Z and The Roots are both co-signing on this guy, he may be worth checking out.

I have never even heard of Peedi Peedi, though that might say more about me than his talents, lol. Anyway I am noticing that record companies are more willing to give newer artists more of a push than before. The go all or nothing now in terms of marketing and PR, which sometimes works and sometimes results in, well a whole lot of nothing. We will see what happens to Peedi Peedi, and if we remember him this time next year.
