Have you ever thought that you could create a better video game than what is availible in stores if you had the proper tools? Well Microsoft is ready to put you to the test. They will be releasing the XNA Game Studio Express on Aug. 30th in Beta form with a final version coming later this year. XNA Game Studio Express will allow hobbyist and indie game developers to create thier own games for XBox Live. The program will be free to download for anyone with a PC (no news on a Mac version). Microsoft’s Peter Moore has been quoted saying, “It’s our first step of creating a YouTube for videogames”. Only time will tell wether they can make that a reality.

First it online photo albums, models became discovered. Then it was with music and sharing files across the internet, alot of new artist got discovered. Blogging came, anyone can become a reporter and get noticed, then sites like YouTube, anyone can become a director and get notice. It is only a matter of time before gamers become publishers making the industry step up their game. I think it is great.

I have to admit it’d be pretty nice to make my own games.
